LRM is the closest airport to Bayahibe and almost nobody knows it. It is twenty-two kilometres, a twenty-five minute drive, and the transfer is quoted per vehicle, not per person. If your flight allows it, coming in this way saves you an hour on the road.
La Romana is a small single-terminal airport handling mostly charter and seasonal flights from North America and Europe. Because it does not surface in cheap-flight searches, plenty of people end up flying into Punta Cana and driving an hour and a quarter back west. If you are comparing tickets, LRM is worth a look before you decide.
The route leaves the airport, takes the eastbound road and reaches Bayahibe without crossing any built-up area. It is one of the few drives in the country where the estimated and actual times almost always match. That is why the price we give you does not move: there is no traffic variable that would justify charging more.
